Kids to Coast 2012
Kids to Coast Mutitjulu was designed based on the expressed need by the Community itself, to offer their youth an experience reaching further from their society, with an aim to improve education.
The Hooker Family Foundation has been working with Mutitjulu Community School from 2011 – 2013, facilitating major incentive activities to boost student education, school attendance rates while creating a more extensive educational experience.
KTC 2012 Achievements
Flying Experience
The KTC 2012 group boarded heir first flight from Ayers Rock to Sydney, all thanks to Qantas who generously donated the flights.
Beach Safety
The KTC group spent a day at iconic Bondi Beach with Nippers from Bondi Surf Bathers’ Life Saving Club and Bondi Rescue Lifeguards, learning valuable beach safety skills and aquatic knowledge.
Training with Sydney Swans
Adam Goodes and the Sydney Swans spent half a day training with 2012 KTC group and teaching them football skills and teamwork.
Broadcasting with NITV
Thanks to SBS and NITV, the students spent half a day in NITV’s studio headquarters learning about the Indigenous television station and what it takes to deliver the news.
